Rustic Elopement at Front Porch Farms from Erin Allender | Nashville

The stars aligned perfectly for Maureen + Adam’s relationship… or rather, their dogs started the whole thing! The couple met by happenstance when their dogs started playing together at a dog park on the beach. Yes, it sounds like something out of a romantic comedy, but this is real life for the couple! A Tennessee elopement at Front Porch Farms was in store with lots of colorful and fun decor in an intimate setting. Erin Lee Allender had the privilege of capturing the whole day from their sweet first look to the bonfire + s’mores to cap off the night. How did you meet?

Maureen: Our dogs introduced us! We met at a dog park on the beach in New Jersey. A German Shepard stole my dog’s ball and Adam made a joke about it. Our dogs started playing in the waves together, and Adam and I got to chatting. He didn’t ask me out then, but we both kept returning to the dog park in hopes of seeing each other. A few days later we were  there at the same time again and we didn’t miss the chance to exchange numbers that time!

Tell us about your proposal!

Maureen: Adam proposed at the dog park where we met. It was a cold day in March and this dog park is on the beach, so no one was around except us and our dogs. I had no idea it was coming but I said yes before he even finished asking the question!

What were your favorite parts of the day?

Maureen: We planned this wedding on short notice and without seeing anything in person ahead of time, so I was amazed with how perfect everything turned out. The ceremony took place under a beautiful big tree at Front Porch Farms. It was simple, sweet and short, which left plenty of time to enjoy the company of our family over cocktails and dinner!

Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding now?

Maureen: Trust in the professionals and try to remember to keep the focus on celebrating the marriage. We really wanted a small, intimate wedding and to not be distracted by planning a huge bash. As hard as it was to cull the guest list and limit it to immediate family, it was worth it to make it the perfect day for us!
