Hailey + Grant’s Classic Southern Wedding at War Memorial by Music City Events | Nashville Tennessee Classic Weddings

Classic meets modern. Southern traditions meeting the modern age. Timeless photography that will also show a sign of the times. All of these #weddinggoals truly embody Grant + Hailey's wedding at War Memorial! Planned by the downtown wedding pros themselves, Music City Events, each and every detail tied together created a cohesive and timeless wedding (I can't stop saying timeless – this wedding truly is!). And with Hailey's close ties to her grandmother, she incorporated elements from her downtown wedding years ago into her own wedding – it is truly one for the books! Plus, the historic elements of each and every venue are true flashbacks to the days of old. How did you guys meet?

Hailey: Oddly enough, we grew up about 10 miles from each other and spent four years at the University of Tennessee without meeting each other. The year after we graduated, we both stayed in Knoxville for our first jobs and met through a year-long Young Professionals program. We had a blast in Knoxville post-college and made some lifelong friends as we were starting our relationship.

What was the vision for your wedding?

Hailey: Classic Southern with modern clean lines. I loved the historic feel of War Memorial but wanted to have a traditional ceremony at a close by church. I loved that the church had a touch of color on the walls but was very white and simplistic. Grant and I also loved cocktail hour, particularly having time to greet guests and mingle. The weather was perfect and the outdoor courtyard was exactly what we wanted. It was important to me that the bridesmaid dresses were neutral along with the flowers and tablecloths. We used olive branches as a touch of green.

Can you share any special moments or highlights from your wedding day?

Hailey: I loved being downtown. The bridesmaids and my parents stayed Friday night at the Hermitage Hotel. It was very fun to wake up with our view looking out onto War Memorial and to have a slow and intimate morning with some of my favorite people. The bridal party walked over to War Memorial for pictures and it felt like a movie with us all walking around the downtown streets. Especially me with my long train and cathedral length veil. It took 2 bridesmaids to keep it from sweeping the streets up!

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your wedding?

Hailey: My something old was my grandmother’s garter. We pinned it inside of my dress. She was also married in downtown Nashville so sharing multiple things, such as a middle name, is very special to me. My something new was a Tiffany’s pearl bracelet Grant gave to me as a wedding gift. My something borrowed was really fun. I had my sorority sisters meet me before the ceremony to serenade me with a ritual song we sang together many times, right before they each brought their Phi Mu pin and we attached them to my bouquet.

Thanks so much for sharing this stunning wedding with us, Music City Events! Be sure to check out more of their weddings here on their website and give them a follow over on Instagram!
