Despite whatever the groundhog decided last month, the winter weather has seemed to stick around here in Middle Tennessee. So let's just keep the cold alive and well today on the blog with a beautiful winter styled shoot from Johannah Joy Photography! Johannah and her amazing team of vendors decided on a cool meets deep color palette with mauve and dusty blue. The model bride and groom were all smiles while their faux wedding took place at White Dove Barn. All of the details added up to create an elegant Tennessee winter scene! See the shoot below along with an interview with Johannah!
What was your design inspiration for the shoot?
Johannah: Our inspiration behind this shoot was to do something different that could be the next big theme and we fell in love with it! It still adds all those soft and beautiful colors and there are a few different ways you could go with table scapes, etc.
Describe some of the design elements.
Johannah: [For the bouquet], it is so romantic and dreamy. When Sheila asked me what I was thinking when it came to the flower arrangements I said something dreamy with a lot of natural greenery for filling it out and can say it turned out so beautiful!! Zoey of Zoey's Cake Box made this simple yet gorgeous 3 layer cake. Starting with a marble layer at the bottom and then a mauve color to make the theme of the shoot and then a clean white top!
Describe the table scape elements!
Johannah: There ended up being 3 different tables capes to explore all the options. The first you'll see would be a blue table cloth with a large floral arrangement in the center in a long flower vase. [We incorporated] a number of mauve and black candlesticks and 2 antique lamps along with 6 plate settings with silver utensils and silver rimmed glasses. Second, you will see a large gorgeous white washed farm table with a dark purple flowy, fabric draped down the middle of the table with black candlesticks and a very large floral arrangement that dreams are made of!! This table shaping is a little more on the dark side, but it is personally my favorite. The third table scape you will see is a small, round sweetheart table. It is very simple but also quite elegant with a floral arbor in the background. We sat the bouquet on the table instead of an arrangement so that it wasn't too cluttered along with an antique lamp and some black candlesticks and gold rimmed water glasses.
