Wedding Details

How would you describe your style as a couple?

Our style as a couple is elegant and classy, but we love to have a great time.  We are very laid-back, and just wanted a magical night for our guests to enjoy.

Where did you get your inspiration?

As a little girl, I remember wanting a very romantic wedding like a secret garden.  Thanks to Pinterest, I really saw what my dreams were.  Of course, we added our own twist with the help of advice from our wedding planner and my mom, and we couldn’t have pulled it off without them.

How did you incorporate that style into your wedding?

To make my secret garden come true, my mother, grandmother, and I started collecting old keys so that, when the time came, we could use them as escort cards to get into our secret garden.  As we really started planning décor and flowers, that’s when we took secret garden to a different level.  We had lanterns, moss, door knobs with key holes, a breathtaking chandelier, and beautiful flowers to incorporate our secret garden theme.

What was your (or your guests’) favorite aspect of your wedding?

Of course, finally after two years of engagement saying “I DO” was the best part of the day.  Now looking at the day itself, I would have to say just the reception at Houston Station turned into more than I could’ve imagined.  It was just something I will never forget.  Our guests honestly just kept coming up to us, and my parents were saying it was just the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to.  From the church, my dress, the “I DO”, the reception hall, and to end with a sparkler tunnel leading to Bing Crosby’s Rolls Royce.

Where did you splurge?  Where did you save/DIY?

We definitely splurged with the flowers and décor.  We saw that our amazing florist took my dream and ran with it, so we went a little over budget for that.  We saved by collecting the keys, an old barn door, and personalizing all signage.

Who were your favorite vendors and what made them exceptional?

I seriously cant pick our favorite because they all went above and beyond for us.

Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?

I really can’t think of something we would want to do over.  It truly was the wedding of our dreams.

In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?

Take your time enjoying every part of planning together because your wedding day feels like a flash, so take every moment in!!
