Nashville Bride Guide Features Geny’s Wedding Dresses On Today In Nashville | Wedding Resources

I’m going to start this post off by saying – it takes a TEAM! And a few weeks back during my segment on Today in Nashville, I had so many wedding professionals and models willing and able to step up to the plate and help a sister out! During this particular segment, I showcased 4 gorgeous wedding dresses from Geny’s Bridal. Now, if you’ve never been to Geny’s, you are missing out! Shop manager Kim and seamstress extraordinaire Faye helped me with model fittings and briefed me on their newest and most trending dresses in the shop! They were gracious enough to spend time and energy making these models look fantastic for the camera – and boy did they ever! Plus, makeup artist Katie-Laine Thornton brought her team of beauty professionals to the WSMV studios to make the models look top notch! After much coordination (and even a bit of a hiccup day of!), everyone worked together to make this segement one of the best yet! Even Amy of And How! Imaging was able to capture the moments behind the scenes and even on air documenting the entire process. Take a look at all of her stunning photos and hear all about the latest fall dress trends from Geny’s (plus, see the full segment below)!

So what’s new as far as fall wedding dress trends go? We had Victoria wearing a beautiful Pronovias gown with an illusion back detailing with the lace appliques peeking through! Illusion backs are all the rage and bringing more interest to the back of the dress this season is key! We’re also seeing beautiful buttons cascading down the backs of these dresses as well. And another element that is cool about Victoria’s fit and flare dress is that the lining is champagne and the lace overlay is ivory – so that means the dress really has some dimension and pops! We are not seeing any true white dresses this season – in fact, they are really hard to come by! So color is key – we’re even noticing hues of light pinks and blues walking down the aisle.

Another really cool trend (that I love!) for fall is a wedding jumpsuit! Not every bride needs to feel confined to wearing a dress – jumpsuits and pant suits are all the rage. I had Olivia Shea Styles wearing a beautiful sweetheart jumpsuit from Pronovias with a V-back and long sleeve beaded detailing. It’s something unique that brides may also want to slip into during their rehearsal dinner, shower, or even during their reception. Kim at Geny’s recommends that you can even bring it on your honeymoon and wear it out again to a dressy dinner! Who knew you could wear your wedding dress (er, jumpsuit!) again!

Next, La-Tanya wore an absolutely stunning Pronovias gown with a cathedral train! Cascading trains are making a huge statement this fall and combining it with long sleeves, buttons and illusion back detailing is a complete win to be on trend! The front of this dress also has the illusion detail and makes the plunging sweetheart neckline just a bit more modest with the illusion fabric. You can even buy an insert to go with the dress if the plunge is still a bit low for you, so the versatility works wonders for many different types of brides!

And finally, Victoria did a super quick change into another dress while we were live (I mean, MAJOR props to the Geny’s team and Victoria for doing this!). This dress is an Ellis dress (did you know Geny’s is the only shop in Tennessee that carries Ellis gowns?), and gives way to sleek and classic style! The off the shoulder trend is huge in fashion right now, so why not wear this style on your wedding day? This satin dress gives a nod to the days of old with simplistic style and meaninful design details! Plus – POCKETS! I mean, what girl doesn’t love dress pockets? Perfect for carrying those tissues in case you shed a happy tear on your wedding day! (This dress can be seen in the video clip below – check it out!)
