The result was a gorgeous August wedding at breathtaking Church of the Assumption and a rockin’ reception at Cannery One. We love how everyone seems to be having the time of their lives and celebrating what’s truly important — the love of Kelly and Josh! My Wedding Details
How would you describe your style as a couple?
We both agree that you could label our style as classic. We are pretty laid back for the most part, but also enjoy getting “gussied up” when the occasion arises. We love to have fun and make each other laugh. Never a dull moment.
How did you incorporate that style into your wedding?
We wanted to go for traditional with our own special personal touches. Something we could look back on years down the road and still love and connect with. A look that doesn’t later make us say, “What were we thinking!”
What was your (or your guests’) favorite aspect of your wedding?
My favorite aspect of the wedding was how beautifully the day unfolded. I spent the morning getting ready with all the girls- getting hair done, drinking champagne, and enjoying each others company. The boys did the same with the exception of all the primping. They had a bro brunch at Tavern.
I got a first look with my daddy before he walked me down the aisle, which was an unforgettable special moment.
We were surrounded by so much love & so many great people all day; I think that’s what made our day truly spectacular.
Our guests are still talking about the great time they had ☺
Where did you splurge? Where did you save/DIY?
I don’t think we necessarily “splurged” in any one particular area. There were parts of our wedding that were typically more expensive than others, but for the most part we just made sure we had quality vendors and beautiful details. You only get married once! Make it worth it.
Now that the wedding day is over, is there anything about your planning process you feel you could have done differently?
I had moved to Colorado 9 months before our wedding, so that made things a little complicated at times, but we had an amazing wedding planner who made sure it was a stress free process.
In one sentence, what words of advice do you have for couples in the midst of their planning?
Enjoy & celebrate every minute, every occasion. Every detail may not be perfect, so focus on your wedding day rather than sweating over small stuff (invitations, programs, ring bearer pillow..) because when its all said and done, those things hardly matter. Have fun and be happy. That’s what people are going to remember. And don’t forget to thank everyone that has helped you along the way!
