Modern sleek design is here to stay in weddings! And I've been patiently waiting to share this styled shoot with you since May! I collaborated with Abigail Volkmann Photography and Fanciful Ink to style the shoot from front to back! From coming up with the concept all the way to styling during that day, the three of us worked hard to make our dream shoot a reality! The gorgeous model Olivia Shea Style and her bf Jerry were gracious enough to be our muses in the brand new modern 21c Museum Hotel! Take a look at Abigail's photos and stay tuned for Part 2 (along with a video) tomorrow!

Styled Shoot

21c Museum Hotel

5.18.17

This first portion of the styled shoot was so much fun! The couple warmed up with portraits with each other in one of the suites of the brand new hotel in downtown Nashville - the 21c Museum Hotel! The artist suite was complete with modern furnishings and contemporary art all around. It was the perfect spot to set up shop for an intimate "first look" at the sweetheart table set for two while 21c served some of their signature appetizers from their restaurant Gray & Dudley. Olivia's pant suit was something very few bridal shops were offering at the time, and Olia Zavozina's design was perfect for the sleek modern look we were going for! Plus, Jerry's navy suit from Street Tuxedo complimented the sleek look. Neutral place settings with black, gray, white and gold were provided by Liberty Party Rental and we played with the angles to create something completely out of the box to go along with the modern art surroundings.

We moved outside of the artist suite and into the hall to capture some details and more portraits among the modern art displays. The alcove where we shot the cake actually has clear glass floors and ceilings where you can see up and down all the floors of the hotel! Every corner of this museum hotel is carefully thought out and planned. I was so impressed! Oh Crumbs! Bakery's gravity-defying cake made such a statement with geometric lines and a modern quirky design. More details like the Robin Haley Jewelry, the bouquet by Rachael Ann's Event Design and Laurie of Fanciful Ink's invitation suite was styled against interactive art (yes, the puddle piece and the table both had motion video integrated into the design!

You can also check our shoot out on Artfully Wed (another wedding blog favorite of mine!). Thanks so much to all of the vendors who were involved in the day! I love how everything turned out and the modern setting was just stunning! Check back tomorrow for Part 2 of the shoot with a video by Anne Claire Patterson!
